You may have received an email similar to the example shown below. Emails like this are designed to mislead domain owners. It is an attempt to get businesses to register superfluous domains. Note the Chinese domain extensions: “.cn”, “.com.cn” & “.asia”. This email tries to convince the receiver that someone in China is trying to purchase these domains and they are responsible for contacting the owner of the American equivalent to avoid trademark infringement.
